Prof. Robert Schwartz’s open lecture at MUL
On 16th December 2016 we were joined by Prof Robert Schwartz – Head of the Department of Dermatology at the Rutgess New Jersey Medical School. He is recognised as a pioneer in investigating paraneoplastic syndromes and epidermal tumours, with the main focus on Kaposi’s sarcoma. He is best known for the co-discovery of the association between AIDS and Kaposi’s sarcoma (KS-AIDS) and the Schwartz-Burgess Syndrome.
Students and University staff attended an open lecture dedicated to Kaposi’s sarcoma in great numbers.
The latter were represented by the Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations – Prof Lucyna Wozniak, Deputy Rector for the Military Health Service – Prof Waldemar Machala and the Head of Dermatology and Venereology Clinic – Prof Anna Wozniacka, whereas Prof Malgorzata Czyz – the Head of Department of Molecular Pathology took on a role of a moderator for an event.
