Happy Patient
The Medical Universtiy of Lodz (MUL) participates in the European HAPPY PATIENT project aimed at researching doctor-patient strategies to reduce antibiotic consumption.
Happy Patient seeks to reduce the impact of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) by decreasing the inappropriate use of antimicrobials for the management of common community-acquired infection.
The Happy Patient project is a 3 year Project co-funded by the 3rd Health Programme of the European Union under the Grant Agreement number: 900024.
The Happy Patient consortium contains a wide diversity of geographical and professional coverage throughout the EU.
will implement a patient-centered approach, engaging health care professionals, which act as first points of contact to the health care system and are responsible for the management of community-acquired infections.
The health care professionals to be involved in the Happy Patient project are:
- Providers of primary health care services such as General Practitioners (GPs), nurses and dentists
- Clinicians in Out-of-Hour (OOH) Services
- Clinicians in Nursing Homes
Happy Patient will implement a multifaceted intervention based on state-of the-art procedures and information to change practice behaviour and patients’ perceptions about antibiotic use and AMR, based on the Audit Project Odense (APO) methodology.
