RECRUITMENT TO THE INTERNATIONAL DOCTORAL SCHOOL AND DOCTORAL SCHOOL OF MOLECULAR MEDICINE OF MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF LODZ
The Medical University of Lodz announces recruitment to the International Doctoral School and the Doctoral School of Molecular Medicine for the academic year 2026/2027.
Education at the International Doctoral School:
1) includes 8 semesters and is completed with the submission of doctoral dissertation;
2) prepares students to obtain a PhD degree in medical sciences and health sciences in the following scientific disciplines:
• medical sciences (IDS, SMM)
• health sciences (IDS)
• pharmaceutical sciences (IDS, SMM).
The list of places allocated to organizational units at the International Doctoral School and the Doctoral School of Molecular Medicine for the academic year 2026/2027 is available in the University’s electronic system (IRK) or on the schools’ websites:

The recruitment procedure for the International Doctoral School is held by way of a contest following the principles set out in:
• Rector’s Order regarding the announcement of the recruitment and admission limit for the International Doctoral School for the academic year 2026/2027 and the list of places at the International Doctoral School allocated to research and teaching units of the Medical University of Lodz.
• Resolution No. 2/2026 of the Senate of the Medical University of Lodz of January 29, 2026 regarding the recruitment rules for the International Doctoral School for the academic year 2026/2027.
• Order No. 21/2026 of February 19, 2026 on the recruitment plan for the International Doctoral School for the academic year 2026/2027.
The recruitment process for the Doctoral School of Molecular Medicine is competitive and is conducted pursuant to:
• The Rector’s Order regarding the announcement of the recruitment process for the 2026/2027 academic year, the admission limit for the Doctoral School of Molecular Medicine, the list of places allocated to organizational units, and the list of research topics submitted by organizational units and partners.
• Resolution No. 1/2026 of January 29, 2026, of the Senate of the Medical University of Lodz, regarding the principles of recruitment to the Doctoral School of Molecular Medicine for the 2026/2027 academic year.
• Order No. 22/2026 of February 19, 2026, regarding the recruitment plan for the Doctoral School of Molecular Medicine for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The candidate is obliged to comply with the deadlines specified in the recruitment plans for the given school.
The candidate who may apply for the admission to a doctoral school of Medical University must be a relevant higher education school graduate who:
1. holds a Master of Science or a Master of Engineering or an equivalent degree;
2. obtained a written consent of the proposed doctoral research supervisor to oversee a PhD candidate’s work on doctoral dissertation;
3. has level of English on B2 level;
4. is not a doctoral student at any other doctoral school.
The candidate is obliged to registered in University electronic recruitment system, later submit the documents to the recruitment committee – via The Office of Doctoral School, by the dates specified in the recruitment schedule of chosen Doctoral School – original documents indicated in § 9 of the Resolution on the rules of recruitment to the doctoral school for the academic year 2026/2027.
The full set of documents shall be submitted in a signed white cardboard folder between July 1-15, 2026 after making a prior appointment at The Office of Doctoral School by e mail sent to: cod@umed.lodz.pl with the following e-mail subject: name and surname – IDS or SMM recruitment
In the case of foreigners, it is allowed to send scans of the documents referred to in § 9 via e-mail, provided that these documents will be sent within the deadline specified in the recruitment plan, and the original documents will be delivered to the Recruitment Committee via the Doctoral School Office, no later than:
1) 4 days after publishing the list of candidates qualified for admission to a Doctoral School;
2) 30 days after publishing the list of candidates qualified for admission to a Doctoral School – if the foreigner is required to obtain a visa entitling him to stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland.In the cases referred to above, the date of submitting the documents is the date of sending the e-mail containing document scans.
When submitting documents to the Office of Doctoral School, the candidate is obliged to present an identity document.
Documents submitted after the aforementioned date will not be accepted for recruitment procedures to Doctoral Schools.
