(Currently, the building is undergoing the construction work under the longer-term project: Construction Stage 2 of Clinical and Didactic Centre Medical University of Lodz).

The LTC usable area of 3.121,5 m2 is projected to include:

  • construction of Acute Poisoning Department (Department of Toxicology)
    • a total of projected beds: 15
  • expansion of Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care
    • the number of already created beds:  4
  • construction of an insulated ambulance ramp intended for LTC patients
  • construction of Diagnostic Laboratory

Part of the Acute Poisoning Department (Department of Toxicology) connected directly with patients’ admission which includes, among others, decontamination rooms, treatment room, resuscitation and treatment room, diagnostic analysis labs, antidote bank, will be located on the ground floor of Building A-2

The remaining part of the Acute Poisoning Department will occupy the first floor and this section will include patient rooms (two 3-bed rooms, two 2-bed ones, an isolation room, one-bed and three-bed isolation rooms as well as an examination room, a psychologist’s surgery, a treatment room, a hyperbaric chamber). Both parts of the Department situated on different floors will be conveniently linked by two stairwells and a hospital lift. The project also involves the expansion of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care by inclusion of a 4-unit intensive care room and nursing care units. The expanded section will be incorporated in the currently functioning Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Central University Hospital.

The underground storey of Building A-2 is intended for Diagnostic Laboratory which will provide a wide range of services in toxicological diagnostics among others.

The solutions agreed upon in the design of LTC are consistent with the latest achievements in medicine and they will enable the application of the highest standards of treatment in compliance with the applicable provisions of law.
