The Lodz Academic Partnership, of which the Medical University of Lodz is a member, jointly inaugurated the 2025/2026 academic year for the third time. The ceremony took place in the concert hall of the Lodz Philharmonic, filled to capacity with representatives of partner universities, city authorities, students, and guests.

On behalf of the higher education institutions, the inaugural address was delivered by Przemysław Wachowski PhD, Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz.

A highlight of the event was the ceremonial matriculation of newly admitted students and doctoral candidates.

For the first time in the history of the joint inauguration, Lodz Eureka statuettes were presented to awardees in three categories — with two prizes in each.

As is tradition, the ceremony was enriched by an opening lecture. This year’s address was given by Professor Radzisław Kordek, MD, PhD, who shared insights into one of today’s most common cancers in his lecture “Breast Cancer – Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.”

The event concluded with a captivating and passionate artistic performance by students of the Lodz Film School (PWSFTViT).

We look forward with optimism to a new academic year filled with scientific inspiration, artistic experiences, and continued collaboration uniting all universities within the Lodz Academic Partnership.
