The Conference of Rectors of University Medical Schools (KRAUM) was held on January 11, 2024, and the Medical University of Lodz had the pleasure to be the event host. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Marcin Gruchała, the Chairman of KRAUM, Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk.

Along with the rectors of medical universities associated in KRAUM, the meeting was attended the invited guests:  Wojciech Konieczny, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health; Małgorzata Zadorożna, Director of the Health Ministry’s Medical Personnel Department;  Maciej Karaszewski, Deputy Director of the Department of Health Care Services of the National Health Fund; Mateusz Kowalczyk MD, Vice-President of the Supreme Medical Council; Krzysztof Kurowski,  Vice-President of the Management Board of the Polpharma Scientific Foundation; Daniela Piotrowska, Director of Polpharma Scientific Foundation; and Grzegorz Kurzyp, Director of PZWL PWN Group.

Discussions were held on i.a., an increase in subsidies for medical universities, changes in educational standards in the field of clinical nutrition, activities of the National Oncology Network. The cooperation with the Supreme Medical Chamber was also discussed, the project of the first edition of the Polpharma summer school was summarised and the MEDICO PZWL medical platform of the PWN Group was also presented.

The representatives of the Ministry of Health and the National Health Fund put forward plans and suggestions of alterations to be made in teaching medical professions.
