The Medical University of Lodz has once again been highly rated in the prestigious Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2025, prepared by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. In this year’s edition, the university was classified in the field of medical sciences in the clinical medicine category, ranking between 201 and 300 in the world and 2nd among Polish universities.

The GRAS ranking covers 57 scientific disciplines in five main areas: natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences and social sciences. The assessment is based on objective indicators such as:

• number of publications in journals with the highest Impact Factor,
• normalised citation impact (Research Impact),
• international cooperation,
• number of articles in top journals (Top Journal Papers),
• prestigious scientific awards for academic staff.

The university’s presence in the GRAS ranking is proof of the high quality of research conducted in Lodz, its international recognition and effectiveness in building global scientific partnerships.
