MUL SCIENTISTS AMONG THE TOP 2% MOST CITED RESEARCHERS WORLDWIDE
In the latest edition of the prestigious World’s Top 2% Scientists ranking, compiled by Professor John P.A. Ioannidis and his team at Stanford University, a significant number of researchers affiliated with the Medical University of Lodz were recognized.
In the Career Impact category, which evaluates the overall scientific output of a researcher, 15 university scientists were highlighted. This distinction demonstrates the lasting influence of their work on the advancement of global science.
An even greater success was recorded in the category assessing achievements over the past year, where 28 researchers from the Medical University of Lodz were included.

The World’s Top 2% Scientists ranking is produced in collaboration with Elsevier and the Scopus database. It identifies approximately 2% of the most frequently cited researchers worldwide and is based on the advanced bibliometric c-score, which takes into account factors such as the number of citations, Hirsch index, author contribution to publications, and self-citations.
Each year, two lists are published:
- Career-long Impact – covering a researcher’s entire career up to the end of 2024,
- Single-year Impact – highlighting achievements from the most recent calendar year.
