This year’s Word University Ranking (2022-23 Edition) assessed Medical University of Lodz as the 12^th  among Polish universities and the 3^rd medical university in Poland  right behind Warsaw Medical University (ranked 9) and Wroclaw Medical University (ranked 10).

The Centre for World University Rankings publishes the academic ranking of top 2000 global universities and 40 Polish universities.  This year MUL was assessed as 1014^th university in the general ranking and 966^th with regard to research excellence.

The list of Polish universities that were ranked highest include: Jagiellonian University (381), Warsaw University (402) and AGH University of Science and Technology (590). In the full global ranking the podium belongs to American universities: Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University.

Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR) has been publishing the academic rankings since 2012, and in 2019 it expanded the list to include 2000 universities worldwide. In the assessment CWUR considers seven objective indices grouped in for areas: the quality of education, alumni employment, quality of faculty, and research performance without relying on surveys and university data submissions.
