NEW PROSPECTS FOR CANCER TREATMENT – RESULTS OF THE MEDICAL RESEARCH AGENCY COMPETITION FOR NON-COMMERCIAL CLINICAL TRIALS IN ONCOLOGY


We are pleased to announce that the Medical University of Lodz has received a recommendation for funding for two research projects, in the role of Consortium Member, in the competition organized by the Medical Research Agency for non-commercial clinical trials and research experiments in the field of oncology (ABM/2024/2).

Out of 69 submitted applications, 18 have been selected and recommended for funding. The high ranking of our projects on the list is a significant distinction and a testament to their innovative nature.

1st place – project led by Prof. Bernarda Kazanowska, MD, PhD, from the Wroclaw Medical University (main investigator on behalf of the Medical University of Lodz: Prof. Wojciech Młynarski, MD, PhD):
“Liquid biopsy and comprehensive molecular testing of paediatric soft tissue sarcoma in Poland to improve diagnosis, risk stratification and outcome”
ACRONYM: LiBRha – Liquid Biopsy for Rhabdomyosarcoma
Total project value: 26,227,797.11 PLN

  • Project leader: Wroclaw Medical University
  • Consortium member: Saving Kids With Cancer Foundation (Fundacja Na Ratunek Dzieciom z Chorobą Nowotworową)

15th place – project led by Prof. Zbigniew Adamczewski, MD, PhD:
“Prognostic value assessment of PSMA-T4 examination in the group of patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) qualified for radical therapy”
Total project value: 14,773,391.98 PLN

  • Consortium member: Medical University of Gdańsk

The total funding allocated to the Medical University of Lodz from the above projects amounts to nearly 13 million PLN.
