The results of the 2025 Perspektywy University Ranking have been announced.
In the national ranking of academic universities, the Medical University of Lodz has once again secured 12th place.
MUL was recognized as a leader in scientific efficiency and received high marks in key categories: 3rd place in external funding effectiveness and 5th place in research publications.

Among medical universities, MUL ranked 1st place ex aequo alongside universities in Gdańsk and Białystok.
“This is yet another year that we remain at the forefront of public universities in Poland. It confirms that our strategic decisions and resulting actions are delivering the expected outcomes,” said Prof. Janusz Piekarski, Rector of the Medical University of Lodz. “However, this success is not just about numbers and statistics—it’s about people. It’s the result of the everyday work, commitment, and passion of each and every one of you. This is your success. Today is a moment to celebrate and take pride in what we’ve achieved. But let us also look ahead with humility. Tomorrow, we return to our intensive work, including efforts to shape the university’s new development strategy. The world—academic and beyond—is changing rapidly and presenting us with new, often complex challenges. We must be ready to meet them,” he underlined.

As in previous years, the Ranking Committee also released the results of the Study Program Ranking, which evaluates degree programs based on several criteria, including: academic potential (scientific category), teaching potential (accreditations, quality of incoming students), scientific output (publications, FWCI, FWVI), internationalization (foreign student numbers, international co-authorship), additional criteria (e.g. national exam results).

We are proud to share that the Cosmetology program was ranked the best in the country for the fourth consecutive year.

Top-ranked UMED programs in the 2025 ranking:

• Cosmetology – 1st place
• Medical Analytics – 4th place
• Emergency Medical Services – 4th place
• Public Health – 5th place
• Medicine (MD) – 5th place

The Perspektywy 2025 Ranking of Academic Universities includes Polish academic institutions with the right to confer doctoral degrees in at least one scientific discipline and with a minimum of 300 full-time students. Only universities with at least two graduating cohorts were considered.
