PROF. LUCYNA WOZNIK- MEMBER OF POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES!


Lucyna WoźniakOn June 26, elections were held for new full and corresponding members of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The elected scientists will join the group of over 300 researchers distinguished by their exceptional scientific achievements and authority within the academic community.

We are pleased to announce that Professor Lucyna Woźniak, PhD DSc, Vice-Rector for International Relations at the Medical University of Lodz, has been elected as a corresponding member of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS). This is not only a personal success for Professor Woźniak, but also a great recognition for the entire academic community of our University.

Professor Woźniak’s scientific achievements include fundamental research in bioorganic chemistry, particularly on P-chiral nucleotide analogs, which have found applications as potential antiviral and anticancer drugs. She has also developed patented technologies in collaboration with international companies, including Genta Inc.

She is actively involved in advancing international scientific cooperation, serving as a member of EWORA and leading Horizon 2020 projects such as Alliance4Life and EIT Health. In Poland, as Vice-Rector for International Relations at the Medical University of Lodz, she supports the development of researchers and the internationalization of scientific research. Her work has a significant impact on shaping Poland’s science and innovation policy.

Membership in PAS bis not only a prestigious honour but also a commitment to continue supporting the advancement of science and education at the highest level.
