PROF. WALDEMAR MACHAŁA JOINS THE SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL OF LEADIND MILITARY MEDICAL INSTITUTES
On August 13, 2025, a ceremony was held at the Military Centre for Civic Education in Warsaw to appoint members to the Scientific Councils of three of the most important military medical institutes:
- the Military Medical Institute – National Research Institute,
- the Military Institute of Aviation Medicine,
- the General Karol Kaczkowski Military Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.
During the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, together with Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence Cezary Tomczyk, emphasized the crucial role of military medicine in ensuring national security and highlighted the contribution of scientists and medical practitioners in preparing the armed forces for the challenges of the modern battlefield.
Among the experts appointed to the Scientific Councils was our Vice-Rector for Military Health Service, Waldemar Machała MD PhD, Professor of MUL – an outstanding specialist in anaesthesiology and emergency medicine, long engaged in the advancement of military medicine and the education of future generations of physicians.
The Scientific Councils serve an advisory and consultative role as well as an initiating body for research and development activities. They have a tangible impact on research directions, the implementation of innovations, and the development of solutions that enhance the medical security of Polish soldiers.
