Visitors from Latvian Ministry of Economics

On Friday, 28 June 2019, Medical University of Lodz hosted the representatives of Investment and Development Agency of the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Latvia headed by the Deputy State Secretary, Raimonds Aleksejenko, and the representatives of Philips Healthcare.

The purpose of the meeting was to exchange knowledge and good practice in:

  • International relations and potential execution of joint projects in the framework of EIT Health and Horizon Europe,
  • Effective transfer of knowledge and technology as well as commercialization of research results,
  • Foundation and development of science and technology consortiums,
  • Knowledge management and the implementation of health information and data exchange platforms.

The number of international projects which MUL participates in is on the increase. What is more valuable than their number, however, is the opportunity to cooperate with over 150 top universities, institutes and companies from across Europe e.g. in the framework of EIT Health.

Strong partners warrant innovativeness and high scientific standard of projects implemented within so called Knowledge Triangle (Education, Research and Innovation). We are involved in intensive search for and development of new models of cooperation with external environment not only to fully explore our potential but also to utilize the capacities of partnership, says Prof. Lucyna Wożniak, MD, PhD, Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations.

The fruits of the meeting include the declarations to develop further cooperation and joint projects, whose outlines have already been discussed during the talks.
