VISITS OF THE EU COUNCIL EDUCATION COMMITTEE IN LODZ – WORKSHOPS AT THE MEDICAL SIMULATION CENTER

On May 29–30, 2025, Lodz hosted a study visit of the EU Council Education Committee titled “Time to Upskill Europe!”. The event focused on strategic directions for educational development and fostering competencies essential for the rapidly evolving European labor market. The main goals of the visit included deepening understanding and promoting lifelong learning, implementing micro-credentials as a tool to validate acquired skills, and effectively adapting educational programs to the new and evolving needs of the economy.

The delegation was welcomed by Maria Bartczak, PhD in Health Sciences and Director of the Medical Simulation Center, who highlighted the crucial role of workshops held at the Center. She emphasized that these workshops provide invaluable opportunities to learn practical clinical skills, allowing students and healthcare professionals to safely practice procedures in a realistic yet controlled environment. She also pointed out the Center’s modern equipment and innovative teaching methods, which enable effective integration of theory with practice.

During the visit, participants toured three public universities in Łódź, including the Medical University of Łódź. The program included a series of interactive workshops combining theoretical knowledge with practical experiences, focusing on current trends and challenges within the European education system.

Delegates took part in workshops organized by MUL Medical Simulation Center, designed to familiarize them with innovative medical training methods using advanced simulators and clinical scenarios. The workshops covered topics such as basic resuscitation techniques (CPR), ultrasound in clinical practice, patient examination in life-threatening conditions, and trauma management.

The training was conducted by experienced instructors specializing in emergency medicine and medical simulation. Their expertise, combined with realistic simulators and authentic clinical cases, provided participants with hands-on experience aligned with medical education standards.

The interactive format encouraged active participation and exchange of experiences, offering a unique opportunity to deepen knowledge and acquire practical skills in a safe, controlled, and state-of-the-art environment. Each workshop participant received a badge and certificate validating the skills acquired.
